Hip-Hop producer Ryan Metcalfe is currently making a charge on the production field of the rap game.
Metcalfe grew up with a wide range of musical interests, but says some of his biggest influences include, Biggie, Gang Starr and Eminem. It was back in his high school years when Metcalfe discovered the Southern Hip Hop scene and years later a southern trap music style can be found in much of his work.
Raised in Ajax, Ontario, Canada and while still attending High School, he found himself confined to the house after breaking his ankle. That’s when it all started for him. With boredom consuming his mind he came across a video of Soulja Boy creating beats. He immediately downloaded the software used in the video and began a journey that would change his career path. Completely self taught, Metcalfe would recreate popular songs to perfect his craft.
Metcalfe attended the same high school as notable Canadian Hip-Hop and R&B producers T-Minus and Boi1da. Metcalfe was awarded the Matthew Samuels (Boi1da) Award for pursuing a career in music.
